Robert Flaugher
June 19, 1930 - March 27, 2009
Mr. Flaugher was born June 19, 1930, in
Walkerton, IN, to Emery and Dorothy (McDaniel) Flaugher, and had
lived in the area all of his life. On June 11, 1955, in
Walkerton, he was married to the former Cheryl Hostetler.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl; one daughter, Kathy Ganser of
Walkerton; two sons, Michael (Marie) Flaugher of Hubbard, OH, and
Damon (Robin) Flaugher of Cedar Rapids, IA; grandchildren,
Melissa Ganser, Jennifer Russell, Michael R. Flaugher, Kristi
Smith and Ryan Flaugher; great-grandchildren, Logan and Connor
Russell, and Madalyn Flaugher; two brothers, William (Alice)
Flaugher of Grovertown and Richard (Mary) Flaugher of Huntsville,
AL. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his grandson,
Harry Ganser. Mr. Flaugher was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean
Conflict. He was a member of the Walkerton American Legion Post
#189 and the 40 & 8. He was a member of the Walkerton United
Methodist Church and the HOGS of the church. He was also a former
member of the Walkerton Masonic Lodge, and had retired from Hiler
Foundries. A memorial service will be Saturday, April 4, at 11:00
a.m. (Eastern Time) in the Walkerton United Methodist Church,
with Pastor Charlene Allen officiating. Cremation has taken
place. Burial will be at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton,
following the service, where military graveside services will be
conducted. Friends may call on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the
time of services in the church. Memorial contributions may be
made to the church. Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel, is
handling arrangements.
