Services for Sister M. Amanda Flannery CSC,
87, of Saint Marys Convent, who died about 4:15 a.m. Monday
in the convent will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Church of
Loretto with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, St. Marys.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. today in the convent, where a wake
service will be at 4:45 p.m.
Sister Flannery was born Elizabeth Ann
Flannery on March 25, 1902 in Woodstock, Minn. She entered the
Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross, at St. Marys,
on Sept. 13, 1918, coming from Woodstock. She was received ass a
novice Aug. 15, 1919 and professed her vows Aug. 15, 1921. She
was an elementary teacher and art teacher at St. Marys
College and Academy, Holy Cross Grade School and St. Joseph Grade
School. She also taught in Danville, Ill., Chicago, Boise Idaho,
and New York.
