Joseclyn "J" Flanagan, 69,
of Rue Renoir Street, South Bend, IN, passed away at 1 a.m.
Tuesday, May 29, 2001 in her friend's home, following a brief
illness. She was born on May 8, 1932, to the late Samuel and Mary
(Clemans) Johnson in South Bend, IN. She had lived
in South Bend all of her live except from 1992 until 1999, where
she had resided in Houston, Texas. Mrs. Flanagan retired on June
1, 1992, from A.M. General, where she served as a contract
administration manager for 16 years. After retirement from A.M.
General she worked form 1992 until 1999 as manager of the
purchasing department and government audits for Stewart &
Stevenson in Houston, TX. Mrs. Flanagan was currently employed as
a corporate secretary with Decision Support Services, LLC in
Mishawaka, IN.
On May 20, 1950, as Joseclyn J. Johnson, she
married John F. Flanagan in South Bend, IN. He died on April 13,
1991. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Theresa Glore
of Mishawaka, IN, and Erin Eileen Flanagan of Buchanan, MI; three
sons, John James (wife Shirley) Flanagan of New Boston, MI,
Patrick Michael (wife Nancy) Flanagan of Mishawaka, IN, and
Daniel Joseph (wife Shabaun) Flanagan of South Bend, IN; 10
grandchildren, Dawn Molisse, Christina Curtis, John
Patrick Flanagan, Seamas Flanagan, Mary Flanagan, Amie Glore,
Brian Glore, Craig Glore, Cameron Flanagan, Connor Flanagan; and
four great-grandchildren, Darick Molisse, Hannah Curtis, Steve
Pierce, and Koryn Flanagan.
Mrs. Flanagan was a 1949 graduate of Central
High School. She was inducted into the South Bend-Mishawaka
Women's Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 1985. She was a bat
girl for the former South Bend Blue Sox Baseball Team and was a
former member of St. Joseph Parish in South Bend.

today, May 31, 2001, in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix
Drive, South Bend, IN. A funeral service will be held at 10:30
a.m. Friday, June 1, 2001, in Kaniewski Funeral Home, with Rev.
Donald F. Guertin, C.S.C. officiating. Interment will follow in
St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN. Memorial
