7, 1948 - May 9, 2010MISHAWAKA - Kay F. Fitzsimmons, 61, of Mishawaka, passed away on Sunday, May 9th, in the Hospice House of South Bend after an extended illness. Kay was born in Mishawaka on November 7, 1948, to the late Robert L. and Shirley M. (Morgan) Self Sr. Kay is survived by her two sons, Robert V. Fitzsimmons Jr. of Mishawaka and Brett A. Fitzsimmons of Fremont, CA; and two grandchildren, Isis and O'siris. Kay is also survived by her seven siblings, Robert L. Self Jr. of FL, Michael L. Self of Fl, Jacquelyn Self of MI, Terry M. Sholty of South Bend, Patricia Frey, of MI, George P. Self, of Wyatt, IN, and Randy W. Self, of FL. Kay loved spending time with her family, especially taking her grandchildren to play at Battell Park. In her younger years she enjoyed bowling and was quite good at it. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, May 12th, from 5 until 7 p.m. in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St. in Mishawaka. A memorial service celebrating Kay's life will be held at 7 p.m. The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made in Kay's name to the Hospice House of South Bend, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
