SOUTH BEND - Services for Patrick J.
''Packy'' Fitzgerald, 82, of Roosevelt Street, who died at
8:15 p.m. Monday in Memorial Hospital, will be at 11 a.m.
Saturday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. Burial
will be in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m.
Friday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to
American Lung Association.
Mr. Fitzgerald retired in 1975 as parts
inspector for Bendix Corp. after 38 years of service. He was born
Feb. 26, 1914, in Chicago.
On April 15, 1944, in South Bend, he married
Love Groninger. She survives with a daughter, Frances Darlington
of Greenwood, Ind.; four sons, Joseph P. of Madisonville, Ky.,
Eugene P. of Indianapolis, and Kevin T. and Kerry D., both of
Helsingborg, Sweden; 10 grandchildren; a sister, Ellen Brooker
of Chicago; and a brother, Robert Sr. of Medford, Wis. He was a
member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, played for the former
Bendix Brakes semi-professional softball team, and was the
press-box spotter for the field announcer for Notre Dame football
games for 35 years.
