LeRoy E. Fisher

LeRoy E. Fisher, 88, residing on South
36th Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 1 p.m. on Sunday,
Sept. 12, in his home.
He was born on Oct. 15, 1910, in
New Paris, Ind., to the late Albert K. and Ella Darkwood Fisher,
and had lived in South Bend since 1948, coming from Fort Wayne, Ind.
On Nov. 4, 1950, in Fort Wayne, he
married Neva B. Sherwood, who survives. He is also survived by
five daughters, Janet K. Idema of Grand Rapids, Mich., Carole
Joan Moore of Milford, Ind., Connie Loraine Hesse of South Bend,
Vivian Kay Miller of Elkhart and Jill Marlene Mark of Granger,
Ind.; two sons, Robert Howard Thompson of Commerce, Ga., and
Allen Everett Fisher of Grand Rapids; and by 19 grandchildren and
17 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Fisher retired in 1975 from the
Peter Eckrich Meat Packaging Plant following 25 years of service.
Since his retirement he enjoyed playing tennis at the South Bend
Racquet Club.
Services for Mr. Fisher will be at 1
p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 15, in the Palmer Funeral Home, 2528
Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend. Mr. Steve Randall, pastor of Harris
Prairie Church of Christ, Granger, will officiate. Burial will
follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m.
