Charles W. Fisher, 78, of North Mason
Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb.
28, in Hospice House of South Bend, Ind. Charles was born on July
30, 1920, in Mishawaka, to the union of Wilbur and Nancy Fisher.
On July 31, 1942, Charles married Evelyn Stanley, who preceded
him in death on Jan. 24, 1999. He was also preceded in death by a
brother, Marion Fisher. Charles retired after 20 years of service
with the Mishawaka Fire Department, with the rank of captain. He
also worked for 21 years for Gerber Manufacturing as a sales
representative. Upon retiring Charles moved to Boynton Beach,
Fla., spending 16 years there, before returning to this area in
1997. He was a member of B.P.O.E. Lodge #325 and the F. &AM
Lodge #130. Charles is survived by two sons, Todd A. (Susan)
Fisher of South Bend and Richard L. (Sue) Fisher of Golden,
Colo.; four grandchildren, Aaron and Kirstin Fisher of Golden,
Colo., and Danielle and Kimberly Fisher of South Bend; a sister,
Dorothy Craeger, and a brother, Glenn Fisher, both of
Boynton Beach, Fla.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
on Wednesday, March 3, at the Bubb Funeral Chapel. A Masonic
service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Funeral services
will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 4, at the Bubb Funeral
Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, with Rev. Sheldon
Grame officiating. Burial will take place at the Fairview
Cemetery in Mishawaka.
