SOUTH BEND - Mrs. Evelyn Ann Fischer, 90, of Augusta, GA,
beloved wife of Gottfried John A. Fischer, entered into rest
Sunday, September 7, 2008 at Westwood Nursing Home. At the end
Mrs. Fischer had her loving caregivers, her husband and her
daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Darrel McKenzie by her
side and was given the last rites by the Rev. Father Gerald Regan
of St. Mary's on the Hill Catholic Church. Memorial services will
be held at a later date in South Bend, Indiana. She was preceded
in death by a daughter, Theresa Wagner; brother, Alfred Papcszynski;
and sisters, Delores Wroblewski, Arlene Stetler and
Hildegarde Greszkowiak.
Mrs. Fischer "Mutzie Katzie" was a
native of South Bend, Indiana, daughter of the late Alex and
Genevieve Papczynski. She was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother,
grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be missed by all who
knew her. Mrs. Fischer is survived by her husband, John A.
Fischer, Martinez, GA; children, Patricia (Darrel) McKenzie,
Martinez, Nancy (Leroy) Krempec, Edwardsburg, MI, Ron
(Joyce) Wasikowski, South Bend, Marie (Steve) Fritz,
Albuquerque, NM, Judie (Ron) Reginaldi, Surgoinsville, TN,
Candice (Bill) Thomas, Napierville, IL, John (Suk)
Fischer, Sun City, CA, Leonard (Pam) Fischer, Brazil, IN,
Joseph Fischer, Elkhart, IN, Stephen Fischer, Crofton, MD;
sister, Henrietta Lyman, South Bend; beloved brother, Alex
(Mary) Papczynski, Lakeville, IN; 17 grandchildren, 12 great
grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes that memorial
contributions be made to The Alzheimer's Association of Augusta,
Georgia or to Heartland Hospice. Arrangements were handled by
