7, 1907 - Jan. 22, 2010SOUTH BEND - Born on July 7, 1907, in Pinneberg, Germany. At the age of 102 he passed away January 22, 2010, at his home in Agoura Hills, CA. William came to the U.S. in 1926, settled in Mishawaka, IN, and built his own home. In 1930 he married Alice Rauber and raised two daughters. The family moved to Inglewood, CA, in 1945. After 41 years as lead machinist, he retired from Mattel in 1969 and settled in Hemet, CA. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, August and Suzanne; brother, Fritz; sisters, Erna, Ella and his wife, Alice of 65 years. He is survived by his daughters, Helen of South Bend, IN and Arlene of Westlake Village, CA. He also leaves behind nieces Gertrude, Mary and Ilse; grandchildren, Elaine, Diane, Scott and Kurt; great-grandchildren, Kristin, Jeffrey, Jason, Karen, Ashley, Dakoda and Liam. He will be missed by his family and those whose lives he touched. A memorial service for the family will be held at a later date at Highland Cemetery, South Bend, IN.
