Henry M. Ferris (May 21, 1908 - Jan. 15, 2001)

SOUTH BEND — Henry M. Ferris, 92, of South Bend, Ind., passed away after an extended illness at 4:23 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 15, in the Cardinal Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Ferris was born on May 21, 1908, in Ladysmith, Wis., and resided in the South Bend area since June 1997, coming from Grayling, Mich. Henry retired in 1972 from Sun Equipment in Northern Michigan as a distributor for the Sun Corporation.

In October 1947 he married Arietta B. Ewald Bottoroff in Rochester, Ind. He is survived by his wife, Arietta B. Ferris; a daughter, Shirley Ann Eyrich of Florida; a stepdaughter, Betty A. Price of South Bend; two sons, Donald Ferris of Plymouth, Ind., and David Ferris of Osceola, Ind.; two brothers, Walter Ferris of South Bend and Willis Ferris of Mishawaka, Ind.; by seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, and he loved and cherished them all.

Mr. Ferris was preceded in death by five sisters, Verlie, Pauline, Maxine, Donna and Hortense; and by five brothers, Ed, George, James, Harold and Frank.

There will be no services or visitation hours. Cremation will take place.

The family request that memorial contributions be made to the charity of donor's choice.

The HANLEY & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home handled arrangements and extend heartfelt sympathy to the Ferris family.
