Melvin J. Ferrettie

Melvin J. Ferrettie, 71, of 33996 Davis Lake St., Edwardsburg, died at 3:20 a.m. today in St. Joseph’s Medical Center, South Bend, after a lengthy illness.  He was born on Nov. 15, 1909, in Mishawaka, and lived here most of his life.  He was retired in 1971 after a career with the Civil Service, Air Force Division.  Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Bernard (Bertha) Richard, with whom he lived.  Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Pius X Church, Granger.  Rev. Francis Zagore, C.S.C., pastor, will officiate, and burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.  Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Mishawaka Council 1878; the Mishawaka Moose Lodge; and the Dowagiac Elks Club.
