Ferne Ferrettie

SOUTH BEND – Ferne F. Ferrettie, 98. Of Colonial Lane, died about 9 p.m. Friday in Holy Cross Parkview Hospital, Plymouth. Mrs. Ferrettie retired from Robertson’s Department Store in 1962. She was born June 1, 1895 in Warsaw and lived in this area most of her life.

On Aug. 4, 1919, as Ferne Titus, she married Charles A. Ferrettie. He died in July 1946. She is survived by two daughters, Jackie Czarnecki and Mary E. Ferrettie, both of South Bend; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jean Ferrettie in 1960 and a son Charles “Bill” in 1980. She was a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Cathedral.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka.
