Nile Fergison

Nile Fergison died peacefully in his
sleep on Tuesday, July 12, 2005, at Countryside Place in
Mishawaka. He was 97. He was born Jan. 16, 1908, in Redfield, MI,
to Anna (Bement) and Robert E Fergison. He is survived by
one daughter, Nilene (Robert) Ferro of Mishawaka. He is
also survived by two stepchildren, Louis (Arlene) Kolupa of
Sarasota, FL, and Barbara (Ernest) Lopez of Prescott, AZ. He is
also survived by three grandchildren, Larry (Suzanne) Davis and
Michael (Connie) Davis, both of Granger, and Terri (Michael)
Linsky of Osceola, IN. He is survived by seven
great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
On July 7, 1955, he married Genevieve
(Kaniewski) Kolupa, who preceded him in death September
1996. Five brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death.
They were Marshall, Albert, Lee, Frederick and Norman Fergison.
The sisters were Gertrude Harris and Louise Staley.
Nile graduated from Elkhart High School and
attended Valparaiso College. He worked as a registered pharmacist
even beyond 65 years of age. He worked in various pharmacies in
Elkhart, South Bend and Mishawaka. He also owned and operated his
own drugstore for several years during the late 40s and early
50s. He was an avid golfer and a lifetime member of the Hampshire
Country Club in Edwardsburg. He was also a member of the Masons.
There will be no visitation or viewing. Bubb
Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Anyone wishing to do
so may make a donation to the charity of their choice. Two
recommendations are the Muscular Dystrophy Association or Pet
Refuge in Mishawaka.
