SOUTH BEND - Emery A. Ferency, 68, residing in South Bend,
passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2008, in his home on his 68th
birthday. He was born July 1, 1940, in South Bend, as the son of
Joseph and Margaret (Szucs) Ferency, and remained a
lifelong resident of St. Joseph County. He was employed as a farm
mechanic with Wykoff Farms in New Carlisle. He was a member of
St. John Lutheran Church, North Liberty, served in the Indiana
National Guard from 1963-1969, and was an avid collector. Emery
is survived by his two daughters, Lisa (Joseph) Gregory of
Niles, MI, and Gail Ferency of LaPorte, IN; their mother, Shirley
Ferency of North Liberty, IN; and his brother, David L. Ferency
of South Bend. His parents; a sister, Patricia Piechowicz;
and a brother, Joseph M. Ferency Jr., preceded him in death.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July
7, at Palmer Funeral Home-Lakeville, 314 South Michigan Street,
Lakeville, IN. Rev. Vicky Blough, pastor of St. John Lutheran
Church, North Liberty, will officiate. Graveside services and
burial will follow at Sumption Prairie Cemetery, South Bend. The
family will receive friends from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. Sunday in the
Palmer Funeral Home-Lakeville. Contributions in memory of Mr.
Ferency may be offered to St. John Lutheran Church, 24955 Riley
Road, North Liberty, IN 46554.
