Alden A. Felabom, 77, of West Broadway Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 1:35 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, in the Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center, South Bend, Ind. Alden was born on May 15, 1923, in Mishawaka, to Alden and Ida Mae (Airgood) Felabom, who both have preceded him in death. Alden was also preceded in death by a brother, John Felabom. He was a journeyman gage maker for Bendix, retiring in 1985 after 34 years of service. He was also a past union steward for Local #9.
On Dec. 31, 1967, in Mishawaka, Alden married Sara E. Truex. Sara survives along with one daughter, Sandra M. Paszli of Granger, Ind.; one son, John A. (Angela) Felabom of Granger; five grandchildren, Dee Ann (Ed) Crabill of Naperville, Ill., Daneen Paszli of Mishawaka, Courtney Felabom, Christian Felabom and Carey Felabom, all of Granger; one great-granddaughter, Eleanor Marie Crabill of Naperville; one brother, Loren W. (Jeanette) Felabom of Tucson, Ariz.
He attended St. Andrew's United Church of Christ, Mishawaka, was a lifetime member of Mishawaka Eagles, lifetime member of Mishawaka F.O.P., lifetime member of South Bend Elks #235, Mishawaka Masonic Lodge #130, Scottish Rite of South Bend, Shrine Club of Michigan City, and the Bradenton Cortez High 12.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, where a Masonic service will take place at 7 p.m. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North. Rev. Dale Speckman will officiate the services, with burial following at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner's Children Hospital.
