17, 1918 - Feb. 19, 2010SOUTH BEND - Joseph B. Fekete, 91, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away Friday, February 19, 2010, at Healthwin Specialized Care in South Bend. Joseph was born on September 17, 1918, in Pennsylvania, to Joseph and Agnes (Pataki) Fekete. He was a contractor and also a machinist, retiring from the former Torrington Company. On April 19, 1941, Joseph married Doris R. Walton, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Susan Lehmann of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Philip (Cheryl) Fekete of Bear, Delaware; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Peter Lehmann, Jenifer, Lauren and Elaina Fekete; and a great-grandson, Kayden Joseph Fekete. Sons, Joseph and John Fekete, a brother, John Fekete, and a sister, Anne Eveland, all preceded him in death. Joseph was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in South Bend, where his parents were founding members. His passions were Notre Dame, camping, fishing and he was one of the finest finishing carpenters in the area. He was a wonderful father and husband and a special grandfather. A memorial visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2010, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2010, in Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, where friends may call one hour prior to the services.
