SOUTH BEND - Wayne A. Farrington, 75, a lifelong resident of
South Bend, passed away at 5:51 a.m. on Saturday, July 17, 2010
in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Mr. Farrington was born on
September 18, 1934 in Yerrington, Nevada to the late William D.
and Madeline (Pauwels) Farrington. On July 31, 1954 in South
Bend, he married Alice C. Allsop who survives. Along with his
wife of 56 years, Alice, survivors include his four children,
Judy (Dave) Tokuhisa of Iowa City, Iowa, Cathy Parrot of Ft.
Wayne, Debbie "Putt" Speth (Keith) Flowers of South
Bend, and Jon (Michelle) Farrington of Mishawaka; ten
grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one sister, Ilah
Jean Allsop of North Vernon, IN. One sister, Elsa Honer, preceded
her brother in death. Mr. Farrington worked at Bendix Corporation
for ten years and was Chief Metallurgical Engineer with
Torrington Corporation. He owned and operated FSG, Inc.,
Mishawaka. Mr. Farrington was a graduate of Central High School
where he was a member of the tumbling club and a graduate of
Purdue University, West Lafayette. Funeral services will be held
at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 in the Palmer Funeral
Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend.
Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday in
the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of
Wayne A. Farrington may be donated to The Center for Hospice
Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637 or to the
National Rifle Association, P.O. Box 420648, Palm Coast, FL
