Sister Mary Antonine CSC, died today
in St. Marys infirmary. She had been a patient there since
1942. Born in New York City in 1866 as Catherine Farmer,
she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross in
1885. From 1892 to 1899 and from 1928 until 1931, she taught at
St. Marys College. From 1887 to 1892 and in 1918 to 1925,
she taught in Baltimore, and from 1899 until 1914 at St. Joseph
Academy in South Bend. She also taught in Virginia. From 1935 to
1937 she was secretary to Mother M. Vincentia, superior general
of the Sisters of Holy Cross.
The funeral mass will be at 6 a.m. in the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception at St. Marys
