MISHAWAKA - Services for Frank J. Farkas,
83, of Zephyrhills, Fla., formerly of Mishawaka, who died at 2
a.m. Tuesday in his home, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in St.
Monica's Catholic Church. Burial will be Highland Cemetery, South
Bend. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Hahn
Funeral Home, where a wake will be at 3:45 p.m. Memorial
contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
Mr. Farkas retired in 1974 from the South
Bend Community School Corp. as a custodian and was employed by
Studebaker Corp. for 32 years. He was born Feb. 18, 1912, in
South Bend, and moved to Florida in 1987.
On Nov. 11, 1933, in South Bend, he married
Velma Bodnar. She died July 5, 1990. On August 3, 1990, he
married Elizabeth Dennington. She survives with a son,
Thomas of South Bend; a stepdaughter, Carol Zinner of
Bushnell, Fla.; six grandchildren, one stepgrandchild; two
great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Lambick of South
Bend and Rose Fisk of Portage, Mich.; and four brothers,
Julius Farkas and Paul Fodroczi, both of South Bend,
Joseph Farkas of Vandalia and Stephen Fodroci of Granger. A son,
Frank J. Farkas Jr., preceded him in death. He was a member of
Calvert Rod & Gun Club, South Bend.
