MISHAWAKA - Raymond A. Fanti, 72, of 14th Street, died at 11:20 p.m. Thursday in Countryside Place. Mr. Fanti retired in 1988 from St. Joseph County Health Department as an inspector.
He was born March 3, 1923, in Mishawaka.
On June 22, 1946, in South Bend, he married Evelyn B. Stajkowski. She died Jan. 31, 1986.
He is survived by two sons, Timothy of Las Vegas and Kenneth of Northfield, Ill.; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a brother, Primo of Mishawaka.
Hahn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

MISHAWAKA - Services for Raymond A. Fanti, 72, of 14th Street, who died at 11:20 p.m. Thursday in Countryside Place, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Bavo's Catholic Church.
Entombment will be in Fairview Mausoleum. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday in Hahn Funeral Home where a wake service will be at 2:30 p.m.
Mr. Fanti was a member of DiAmicis Club, Mishawaka Men's Democratic Club, American Legion Post 161, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 360 and Goodfellows Club and was a World War II Army veteran.
