Sarah J. Fallis, 87, residing on South Ironwood Drive, formerly of Park Jefferson Apts., South Bend, passed away at 9:00 p.m. Thursday, July 13, in Fountainview Place Nursing Home, Mishawaka, where she had been a patient since June 20. Mrs. Fallis suffered a stroke on June 13, 2000.

She was born December 30, 1912, in Chicago, Illinois as the daughter of Leonardo & Rose (Polito) Martino, and has lived in South Bend since 1929, coming here from Chicago.

On June 7, 1954, in South Bend, she was married to Judson D. Fallis, who preceded her in death in 1958. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Rose Newcomer in March 1992; three sisters; and by and a brother.

Mrs. Fallis retired in 1972, as a Precision Inspector from the Bendix Corp. following 38 ½ years of service.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Louis F. & Donna Baldoni of Naples, Florida; a sister Toni Sarnecki of El Cajon, Calif.; five grandchildren, Debra Foster of Granger, Ind., LuAnn Baldoni of South Bend, Vickie Davis and Nancy Eades both of Danville, Ind., and Carrie Newcomer-Mietus of Bloomington, Ind. and by seven great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Fallis was a longtime member of Sunnyside Presbyterian Church, South Bend Shrine Club Auxiliary, and the Ladies Auxiliary of Avalon Grotto.

Services for Mrs. Fallis will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 17, in Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Rev. James B. Miller, pastor of Sunnyside Presbyterian Church will officiate.

Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind.

The family will receive family and friends from 2 - 4 p.m. Sunday, in the Palmer Funeral Home.
