SOUTH BEND - Evelyn M. Falda, 92, of South Bend, passed away on
Monday, February 22, 2010, in Morningside Nursing and Memory
Center, South Bend. She was born on April 19, 1917, in South
Bend, to the late Nicholas and Agnes (Przybylinski) Kaczmarek. On
June 22, 1940, as Evelyn Kacmarek, she married Ervin B. Falda,
who preceded her in death on May 19, 1980. Evelyn is survived by
her daughters, Christine (Duane) Klopenstine of Stuart, Florida,
Marilyn (Timothy) Cyman of Granger, Indiana, and Debbie Henning
of Lakewood, Colorado; her son, Wayne (Ann Tideman) Falda of
Edwardsburg, Michigan; 10 grandchildren and eight
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers,
Ervin, Marian and Richard Kaczmarek. Mrs. Falda and her husband
were the owners and operators of Falda's Catering Service for 20
years before retiring in 1979. She had also worked for Gilberts
for many years. Evelyn was a parishioner of Christ the King
Catholic Church where she was a member of the Harvest House and a
former member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Evelyn was also a
former member of the American Businesswomen's Association.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2010, in
the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend,
where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. A Mass of
Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, February
27, 2010, in Christ the King Catholic Church, 52473 SR 933, South
Bend. Burial will follow at Saint Joseph Valley Memorial Park,
Granger, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to Southern Care
