North Liberty, IN Frederick A. Fair, 81 years old, residing on E. Westwood Drive in Kalamazoo, MI, formerly of North Liberty, IN, passed away at 5:05 A.M. on Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at the Rose Arbor Hospice Residence in Kalamazoo. Mr. Fair was born on December 6, 1919, in North Liberty to the late William and Bessie (Hardman) Fair. He has lived most of his life in North Liberty.
On April 21, 1954, in Angola, IN, he married Gene S. Seabert, who survives. Along with his wife, Gene, survivors include four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bertha Bulla and Susan Howell, both of North Liberty; and two brothers, Larry Fair of North Liberty and William Fair of Yuma, AZ. One sister, Betty Swem, and one brother, James Fair, both preceded in death.
Mr. Fair worked for 19 years at the American Brake Shoe Company of Detroit. He then managed several stations for Fair Oil Company in North Liberty. Mr. Fair was a Wold War II United States Army Veteran earning two bronze stars with the American Theatre and Asiatic Pacific Theatre. He also was awarded good conduct and victory medals.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2001, at 11 a.m. in the Palmer Funeral Home, 314 S. Michigan Street, Lakeville. Pastor James Fair will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Sumption Prairie Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to services on Saturday in the Palmer Funeral Home, Lakeville. Contributions in memory of Frederick A. Fair may be donated to Rose Arbor Hospice Residence, 5473 Croyden Avenue, Kalamazoo, MI 49009-1091.
