MISHAWAKA - Donald E. Fairchild Sr., 61, of South Main Street, died at 3:01 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Community Hospital of natural causes. Mr. Fairchild was a self-employed truck driver, retiring in 1995. He was born April 22, 1934, in Rankin, Ill.

On Aug. 7, 1964, in Danville, Ill., he married Judith A. Smead. She survives with a daughter, Tracy Woodrum of Veedersburg, Ind.; eight sons, James and John Henderson and Scott Fairchild, all of South Bend, Donald Jr. and Francis Fairchild II, Sean Henderson and Thomas Henderson, all of Mishawaka, and Charles Henderson Jr. of Carlton, Mich.; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Francis M. of Daleville, Ala.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
