SOUTH BEND - Derrick L. Fager, 24, of South Bend, Indiana, was taken home by Jesus on December 26, 2008, at 1:56 p.m. in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in South Bend. Derrick was born on March 31, 1984 in South Bend to Dale and Barbara (Pickens) Fager. Derrick is survived by his mother and stepfather, Barbara and Garth Tetzlaff of Hopkins, MI; two sisters, Tomeka (John) Fager-Daly of South Bend and Kim Haywood of Pullman, MI; two brothers, Dale Fager and Ted Fager, both of South Bend; his grandmother, Beverly Fager of Syracuse, IN; five nieces, Savannah, Sierra, Cheyenne, Katha and Denise; six nephews, Aaron, Brandon, Zachary, Aidan, Brian and Christofer. Other surviving family members are five aunts, Rita Burnett and Gladys Jackson, both of Mishawaka, Martha Scarch of Indiana, Vickie and Gayle of Indiana; four uncles, Ernest Pickens of Elkhart, Danny Pickens of Florida and David and Garry both of Indiana. Derrick was preceded in death by his father, Dale Fager in 2001; grandfather, Willard Pickens in 1994; grandmother, Nancy Pickens in 2007, Uncle Earl Pickens in 2000 and Uncle Robert Fager in 2006. Derrick was and loving and caring person who will be missed by all.
