Norma B. Fafard, 87, of Mishawaka,
Ind., passed away following a brief illness on Sunday, March 30,
in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. She was born
in Barry County, Mich., on Dec. 4, 1915, and spent the majority
of her life in the Mishawaka area. Norma married Douglas Fafard
on April 18, 1937. He preceded her in death in 1974. She was also
preceded in death by her two sons, Doug "Jerry" and
Michael; a brother, Harle; and by a sister, Helen. Norma worked
for several years at Hook's Drug in South Bend, Ind., and enjoyed
being a homemaker. She was an active member of East United
Methodist Church, Mishawaka, and was also a member of Parents and
Friends of the Developmentally Disabled. Norma will be
particularly remembered for her great sense of humor. Her
surviving family includes cousins, Lynn (George) Brandt,
Sharon (Lynn) Dodson, Marjorie Town, Barb (Kevin) Patton,
Donna Perry; and nieces, Susan (David) Knowlton and
Micki (Larry) Knoblock.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, 503 West Third Street, Mishawaka. Services will be held at noon Wednesday in the funeral home, with burial following at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind. Memorials may be made to the East United Methodist Church.
