SOUTH BEND - Christopher Paul Fabyan, 52, was born
February 8, 1956, in South Bend, Indiana. Chris was a lifelong
resident of the Rum Village Community. He was preceded in death
by his parents, Emiel and Karoline Fabyan. He is survived by his
sister, Kadee Fabyan-Dew, and her husband, Jeff Dew of
Noblesville, IN; his brother, Emeil Joseph, and his wife, Barbara
of Vincennes, IN; and nieces, Janelle Fabyan-Michel of
South Whitley, IN, and Katelyn Nicole Fabyan of Carmel, IN; and a
great-niece, Hailie Ann Michel of South Whitley. Other surviving
family members are Bill and Arlene Fabyan of South Bend, Joan Arch
of Memphis, Tennessee, and Franz Piller of Indianapolis.
Chris was a 1974 graduate of Riley High
School. He was a scholarship student at Rose-Hulman Institute of
Technology and completed classes at I.U.S.B. He was a longtime
employee of South Bend Heat Treat. Chris' interests included the
Boy Scouts of America, the National Pyrotechnic Association, the
N.R.A., and the University of Notre Dame. Chris was an avid
collegiate and professional football fan. He loved auto racing
from the midgets to the outlaws. He seldom missed a NASCAR race.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He touched many
lives and was always there to lend a helping hand.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon
today (Thursday) in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble
Avenue. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to noon in
the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady
of Hungary Church, 829 W. Calvert Street, South Bend, IN 46613.
