24, 1963 - Dec. 7, 2009KOONTZ LAKE - Tina Marie Ewing, 46, of Koontz Lake, formerly of South Bend, passed away in Hospice House, South Bend, IN, on Monday, December 7, 2009. Tina was born November 24, 1963, in South Bend, to Gerald and Sharon (Tesmer) Huys, and had lived at Koontz Lake for 10 years, coming from South Bend. Tina graduated from Vogue Beauty College in South Bend and was the owner of Lakeside Styling at Koontz Lake. She had previously worked at Haircrafters and A you'nique Image Salon in South Bend. She enjoyed gardening, her pond, her dogs, fishing, camping, family time and traveling. Survivors include her husband, Marion; one daughter, Jennifer Penrod of South Bend; one son, Haven Ewing at home; mother, Sharon and Thom Howard of South Bend; father, Gerald and Chris Huys of Orlando, FL; two sisters, Tracy (Gary) Baeb of Orlando, FL, and Tonya Beck of Koontz Lake; one stepdaughter, Chalee Ewing of Osceola; two stepsons, Talon Ewing and M.C. Ewing, both of South Bend; nephews, Kevin and Joey Kulig, Corey Huys and Adam Beck; grandmother, Martha Howard of Lakeville; cousin, Michelle and Pat Barnhart; and special friends, Lezley Pontius and John Kleinrichart Jr. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harvey and Betty Tesmer, Arthur and Geraldine Huys, and by her uncle, Bud Tesmer. A memorial service will be held Friday at 4:00 p.m. (Central Time) in the Koontz Lake Missionary Church, with Pastor Brian Baughman officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service in the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Tina's memory to the Tina Ewing Trust Fund at First Source Bank or to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
