SOUTH BEND - Services for Carl G. Ewing,
65, of Dayton Street, who died after an illness at 12:20 p.m.
Saturday in his home, will be at noon Tuesday in Guisinger
Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. Cremation will follow. Friends may
call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. until services on
Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made
to Chain-O-Lakes Conservation Club.
Mr. Ewing was a self-employed carpenter and
fence installer. He was born Nov. 23, 1930, in South Bend.
On Feb. 20, 1970, in South Bend, he married
Darlene Marshman. She survives with two daughters, Tiffany
Ewing and Amy Ewing, both of South Bend; three sons, Paul,
Christopher, and Raymond, all of South Bend; five grandchildren;
one great-grandson; his father, William A. of South Bend; five
sisters, Marilyn Werstein of Ypsilanti, Mich., Bonnie Wyant
of Crumstown, and Beverly Berkheiser, Sandy Kurzhal,
and Naomi Baker, all of South Bend; and five brothers,
Richard of Troy, Mich., Arthur E. of Union, Calvin E. of
Lakeville, and Albert and Lee, both of South Bend. A son, Joel,
preceded him in death. He was a former member of the National
Guard and a member of Chain-O-Lakes Conservation Club.
