Bettie L. Ewing
April 6, 1932-March 10, 1995
SOUTH BEND--Bettie L. Ewing, 62, of Arthur Street, died Friday
morning of natural causes. Mrs. Ewing was employed by Stone
Container Corp. as a press operator for 20 years. She was
born April 6, 1932, in South Bend. On Dec. 3, 1983, in
South Bend, as Bettie Blanchard, she married Floyd Ewing.
He survives with two daughters, Delsie Ewing and Betty Golomski,
both of South Bend; a son, Thomas Jelderks of South Bend; two
step-daughters, Barbara Wheat and Dorothy Rupert, both of South
Bend; two stepsons, Floyd of South Bend and James of Arizona; 17
grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; her mother, Evelyn
Anderson of South Bend; two sisters, Dottie Hacker of South Bend
and Martha Amor of Walkerton; and two brothers, Charles Blanchard
and Jerry Lee Blanchard, both of Colorado Springs, Colo.
She was a member of the William Penn Club Veterans of Foreign
Wars Auxiliary.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in
Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in
Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8
p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. [Note: Rev. Bob
