SOUTH BEND - Dorothy D. Niles-Ewers, 76, of 1424 E. Dubail St., died at 4:05 a.m. Saturday in Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born June 13, 1917, in South Bend, and was a lifetime area resident.

In 1932 in South Bend, as Dorothy Foster, she married Wilbur E. Niles. He died Oct. 20, 1984. On May 28, 1988, in South Bend, she married Elliot Ewers. He died Nov. 15, 1993.

Surviving are a daughter, Marjorie Hagedorn of South Bend; five sons, Cecil Niles of Berrien Springs, and Darrell, Wendel, Larry and Jay Niles, all of South Bend; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary, and Lady of the Moose 52.

Services will be at 2 p.m Tuesday in Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Kidney Foundation.
