MISHAWAKA - Geraldine C. Evans, 79, of 500 Lincoln Way E., died at 8:04 p.m. Sunday in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend. Mrs. Evans retired in 1983 from the University of Notre Dame after more than 34 years service. She was born Nov. 1, 1915, in Martinsburg, W.Va., and lived in Mishawaka most of her life.

On April 30, 1938, in South Bend, as Geraldine Mossman, she married Harley Evans. He died in 1958. She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Bonk of Mishawaka; a son, Harley Jr. of Clearwater, Fla.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Maxine Miltenberger and Dorothy Behling, both of South Bend. She was a member of Clay Township Democratic Club.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
