F. Robert Evans

MISHAWAKA - F. Robert Evans, 79, of Berkley Circle, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 5:45 a.m. early Tuesday morning, March 17th, in the Healthwin Spe-cialized Care Facility, South Bend, Ind.

Mr. Evans was born on Jan. 2, 1919, in Misha-waka, as one of five children to the late Charles and Barbara (Weinkauf) Evans. Mr. Evans was also preceded in death by his three brothers, Walter, Howard and John Evans; and by his sister, Geraldine Cripe.

Mr. Evans leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife of 51 years, Helen (Klein) Evans, to whom he was married on May 18, 1946, in Mishawaka. He also leaves their four daughters, Maureen (Raymond) Heyse of Walkerton, Ind., Diane (Randy) Williams of Pueblo, Colo., Sharon (Kurt) Potts of South Bend and Jacqueline McNutt of Fort Wayne, Ind.; nine grandchildren, Shannon and Joshua Williams, Dawn, Shawn and Angelina Potts, Cory and T. J. Foster, Christy Ann and Rose Nicole McNutt; two great-grandchildren, Christopher Foster and Meghan Mc Gillicuddy.

He worked for Dodges Reliance from where he retired in 1982 after 41 years of service.

Mr. Evans was a member of many area organizations including St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka; Ushers Club at St. Joseph Parish; K. of C. No. 1878; V.F.W. Post No. 360; Eagles No. 2082; A.A.R.P. and Narcup. He was also a member of St. Joseph's Harvest House, Dodge Quarter Century Club and Dodge Retiree's Club.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 20th, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with Rev. Robert Yast officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Mishawaka, with military rites to be conducted by V.F.W. Post No. 360.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 West Eighth Street, Mishawaka. A Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. today in the funeral home.
