Margaret M. (Peg) Eslinger, 81, of South Bend, died in her home, August 25, 2001.
She was born December 13, 1919, to Rose Kelleher Woelfel and Joseph Jeziorski, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.
On May 28, 1950, Margaret married Kenneth D. Eslinger, who survives. She also survived by four children, William and wife, Laurel; John and wife, Rita; Mary Rose Eslinger; Anne Ferry and husband, Michael. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Jeffrey Eslinger, Amy Eslinger, Michael Ferry Jr., Emily Ann Ferry, Michael DeVleeschower and wife, Isabel.
Margaret served as an active parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church for over 50 years. She was also a member of the Rosary Alter Society, the Christ Child Society, and a tour guide at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart. In 1976, she retired as a librarian at Holy Cross School.
Visitation will be from 2 - 8 PM, Monday, August 27, in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr., South Bend, where a 4 PM Wake Service will be held. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 28, in Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1520 Vassar Avenue. Burial services to immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, 24980 SR 2, South Bend. Donations in Mrs. Eslinger's name be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church and to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637-3437.
