Dorothy F. Ernsberger, 81, of Edwardsburg, Mich., passed away at 9:45 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6, in her residence.

Mrs. Ernsberger was born on Nov. 9, 1919, in South Bend, Ind., and was a lifelong area resident. She retired as a press operator from RACO. On. Feb. 4, 1939, as Dorothy F. Szozypiorski, she married Alex Bystry. On June 27, 1964, she married Chuck Ernsberger, who survives. She is also survived by her children, Kathy VanScoyk of Niles, Mich., Mary Ann Stratton of Niles and Theodore (Sandy) Bystry Sr. of South Bend; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Eleanor Lula of Mishawaka, Ind.; and by a brother, Clem (Irene) Szozypiorski of Crumstown, Ind. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Guy Wayne Stratton; and by her sister, Elsie Lundquist.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 8, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a Rosary will be prayed at 3 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
