Ernest Neal Engdahl, 82, passed away
Monday, March 25. Ernest was born on Dec. 31, 1919, to the late
Ernest and Veda (Simloe) Engdahl. Ernest graduated from Riley
High School in 1938.
He worked as a truck driver/ dispatcher and
was a member of the local 364 Teamsters Union. Ernest served in
the United States Army from 1941-1945 as a sergeant.
After returning from the Army he married
Doris Hardy, who passed away in 1960. He then was married
to Pauline Campbell, who passed away in 1997. He was also
preceded in death by his parents, and by a brother, Earl. Ernest
is survived by his sisters, Norma Watkins of Bremen, Ind.,
Florence (Fred) Williams of Battle Creek, Mich., Veda
(Herb) Slates of Mishawaka, Ind., and Vera (Duncan) DeMike
of South Bend, Ind. Ernest is also survived by many nieces and
nephews. He will be remembered as someone who loved to work in
his garage, and spend time with his nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Ernest will be on Thursday
from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral
Home, 3719 S. Michigan Street. Funeral services will be held at 1
p.m. in the funeral chapel immediately after the visitation.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
