"DEATH COMES TO WOMAN LEADER
MRS. CHARLES ENDLICH DIES IN HOTEL MISHAWAKA
Active In Charitable Affairs in City For
Many Years -- Prominent In Social Events.
Mrs. Charles
Endlich, age 60, died in the Hotel Mishawaka last evening at 4:45
o'clock, after an illness of six months with complications.
Mrs. Endlich had lived in Mishawaka for the last 28 years and was
active here in the city's leading charitable institutions.
She acted as president of the board of directors of the Orphans'
home and has been interested in that work for a great many
years. Mrs. Endlich was a charter member of the Mishawaka
Woman's club and had much to do with the beginning of the Miami
Country club.
She was born in
Pennsylvania, Feb. 26, 1866, and was married here in Mishawaka,
Nov. 30, 1898, to Charles Endlich, who was for a number of years
treasurer of the Dodge Manufacturing company. Before her
marriage she was Miss Caroline L. Vollmer.
She is survived by
her husband and two sisters who have been in the city for the
past 10 days and also three brothers. They include Mrs.
Theodore Kullscher and Mrs. Carl Mchulte, of Philadelphia, Pa.,
Adolph Vollmer, of Florida, August Vollmer, of Maryland, and
Harry D. Vollmer, of California.
Funeral services
will be held from the Sprague funeral chapel Wednesday afternoon
at 4:30 o'clock, in charge of Elmer Higgins, Christian Science
reader. The pallbearers will be Robert Robertson, J. W.
Keller, E. H. Ahara, C. W. Gill, W. B. Hansford and C. A.
Ostrom. The body will be taken to Chicago for
cremation."
