NILES - Robert Raymond Enders Sr., 62, of Niles, MI, passed away at 12:38 a.m. Sunday, February 28, 2010, in Hospice House, Elkhart, IN. Robert was born on January 4, 1948, in South Bend, to Herbert W. and Bernice A. (Kurek) Enders. He retired from South Bend Foundry. Survivors include two daughters, Kim (Tim) Vanslager of New Carlisle, IN, and Karie (Job) Greenawalt of Mishawaka, IN; two sons, Ron Enders of South Bend, IN, and Robert R. Enders Jr. of South Bend, IN; four grandchildren, Shana, Bryce, Tristin and Makayla; three sisters, Patricia J. (Walt) Szostakowski of South Bend, IN, Beverly J. Bratcher of Elkhart, IN, and Delores J. (Bob) Scheibulhut of Mishawaka, IN; and one brother, William D. Enders of Elkhart, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Herbert E. and Roy A. Enders. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 4, 2010, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home. Robert was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #284. He enjoyed local racing and NASCAR, and spending time at the South Bend Motor Speedway. Robert also enjoyed fishing.
