MISHAWAKA - Ella Emmons, 84, of Montoursville, PA,
formerly of Mishawaka, IN, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, in
Valley View Nursing Home in Montoursville, PA. Ella was born on
June 1, 1923, in South Bend, as the daughter of the late Stephen
and Anna (Borkowski) Horvath. She was also preceded in
death by a brother, Steven Horvath.
On June 6, 1942, as the former Ella Horvath,
she married Dale Emmons, who preceded her in death on September
16, 1972. Surviving Ella are her daughter, Sandra (Robert) Wenzel
of Montoursville, PA; a son, Dale "Woody" (Barbara)
Emmons of Mishawaka; a sister, Dorothy (Bill) Hums of
Mishawaka; a sister-in-law, Lora Horvath of Bremen, IN;
brothers-in-law, Eugene (Jane) Emmons and Thomas Emmons, both of
Mishawaka; five grandchildren, Christy (Brian) Cook and
Steven (Carla) Emmons, both of Mishawaka, Dr. Robert (Lindsey)
Wenzel of San Antonio, TX, Deborah (Kirk) Schinosi of
McMurray, PA, and Mellisa (Brett) Hanson of Apex, NC; and
nine great-grandchildren, Karissa and Alaynna Cook, Mitchell,
Elizabeth and Josephine Emmons, Kyle and Tyler Schinosi, Anna
Carolyn Wenzel and Mack Hanson. Ella was a member of St. Bavo
Catholic Church, Mishawaka, The Good Fellows Ladies Auxiliary,
VFW Post 360 Ladies Auxiliary and American Legion 161 Ladies
Auxiliary. She had worked for Morfam. She was a wonderful,
loving, caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Ella will
be missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m., where a
Rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 10, in the Hahn
Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian
Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 11th, in St. Bavo
Catholic Church, with Rev. Barry England officiating. Memorial
contributions may be made in Ella's name to The Center for
Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN
46637.
