Bernelle Emmons
May 11, 1921 - March 21, 1999
Bernelle Emmons, 77, of East Jennings, South
Bend, Ind., died at 2:25 a.m. Sunday, March 21, in Memorial
Hospital.
Bernelle was born on May 11, 1921, in
Marshall, Ark, to Ras and Rilla (Mathias) Harris. She had lived
in the Michiana area since 1942, coming from Arkansas.
An Dec. 21, 1944, Bernelle married Chester
T. "Red" Emmons, who preceded her in death on Jan. 22,
1993
Bernelle is survived by a daughter, Phyllis
M. Emmons of Lakeville, Ind; a sister, Ressie Blough of South
Bend; and two brothers, Paul Ray Harris of Siloam Springs, Ark.,
and P. J. Harris of Harrison, Ark.
Funeral services for Bernelle Emmons will be
at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24, in the Guisinger Colonial
Chapel Funeral Home, 2718 South Michigan Street, South Bend. The
Rev. Paul Nye will officiating. Burial will take place in
Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton, Ind. There will be no visitation.
