MISHAWAKA - Virginia K. Emmert, age 93, of Mishawaka,
passed away at Golden Living Center of Mishawaka at 1:30 a.m.
Thursday, May 08, 2008, of natural causes. Virginia was born May
27, 1914, in Mishawaka, Indiana to the late William and Clara C.
(Schneider) Kilbey.
On July 3, 1937, the former Ms. Kilbey was
united in marriage to Mr. Ralph Emmert who preceded her in death,
passing away in 2003. Surviving are her children, Thomas M.
Emmert and his wife Lee Ann of Cincinnati, Ohio, a daughter,
Ellen Christine Smith and her husband Gary of Niles,
Michigan, two grandchildren, Chad M. Smith of South Bend, Indiana
and Jennifer Smith of Running Springs, California. Also surviving
is one great grandchild, Dustin Smith of South Bend as well as
her special nephew, Ronald Hoover and his wife Alice of
Mishawaka, and a special niece, Marceline Lovelace and her
husband James of Osceola. Preceding Virginia in death were her
siblings, George Kilbey, and Berniece Hoover.
Visitation will be held from 2-6 Sunday, May
11, 2008 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway,
Osceola, Indiana. Services will be conducted at 10:30 am Monday,
May 12, 2008 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Mishawaka.
Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
Virginia was a graduate of Mishawaka High School, and was
employed for 20 years with the Mishawaka Enterprise where she
held various positions before her retirement in 1976. Virginia
was a lifetime member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Mishawka,
and the Tri-Kappa Sorority of Mishawaka since 1959. She enjoyed
collecting calendar plates, as well as glassware throughout the
years. In her memory, memorial contributions may be made to The
RES in Mishawaka.
