MISHAWAKA – Louis Elmo, 86, of West 12th Street, died about 3 p.m. Tuesday following an automobile accident at Indiana 2 and US 31 Bypass. Mr. Elmo retired from Studebaker Corp. in 1963 after 35 years of service. He was born April 17, 1905 in Piacensa, Italy, and lived in Mishawaka since 1928.

On July 12, 1930, in Mishawaka, he married Victoria Ciavatta. She survives with a son, Eugene of Livonia, Mich.; three grandcaughter; and a sister, Gilda Tusing of Fort Wayne. He was a member of the DeAmicis Club and St. Bavo’s Catholic Church.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the church. Entombment will be in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Hahn-DeVos Funeral Home, where a wake service will be a 7:30 p.m.. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
