Brother George Ellis CSC, 72, of Dujarie House at Notre Dame, died at 7:30 a.m. Sunday in St. Joseph Hospital, South Bend, after a two-week illness. A former secondary school teacher, he had been a librarian at St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas, and was an amateur artist. He was born Aug. 30, 1901 in Portland, Ore.

Services will be at 5 p.m. today in Holy Cross Brothers Center on the campus of Holy Cross Junior College at Notre Dame. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery on the campus of St. Edward’s University.
