MISHAWAKA - Anna E. Ellis, 74, of Manor Drive, died at 12:55 p.m. Thursday in her home after an illness. Mrs. Ellis was employed for more than 10 years by Meridian Nursing Center-Cardinal as a nurses aide. She was born Dec. 2, 1920, in Mishawaka and was a lifelong area resident.
On Oct. 12, 1945, in Mishawaka, as Anna E. Johnson, she married George F. Ellis. He survives with three daughters, Georgiann Ellis of Kalamazoo, Gail Barker of South Bend and Gloria Hammer of Mishawaka; four sons, Glenn of Olympia, Wash., Greg of Hudson, Ohio, Gary of Lexington, Ky., and Guy of Mishawaka; eight grandchildren; a sister, Alma Flanagan of Grass Valley, Calif.; a brother, John Johnson of Columbus, Ind.; and a half sister, Dorothy Deards of Chicago. She was a member of the Women's Missionary Society of Calvary Temple.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Calvary Temple. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home and one hour before services Saturday in the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc. or Women's Missionary Society of the church.
