Roberta Elkins

Roberta Elkins, 72, of S. Ironwood Dr., Mishawaka, passed away at 12:30 p.m., Friday, February 24, in her home.

Roberta was born on May 12, 1933, in LaPorte, IN, to the late Delbert and Mary E. (Foster) McClellan. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Daniel George Smith; a daughter, Patricia Weimer on December 2, 2003; and three sisters, Cova F. Grassmyer, Dolly G. Green and Emma L. Baughman.

On September 3, 1949, in LaPorte, IN, as the former Roberta McClellan, she married Marion Elkins, who preceded her in death on August 21, 1996.

Surviving Roberta are her children, Sharon Elkins and Lance of South Bend, Karen (Reni) Van Tornhout of Mishawaka, Lori (Tim) Yeakey of Broken Arrow, OK, Betty (John) McCaffery of Vero Beach, FL, Robert (Georgia) Elkins and Richard (Della) Elkins, both of Mishawaka; a son-in-law, William Weimer of Osceola, IN; 15 grandchildren, Tammy, Robert, Richard, Michael, Charles, Latishia, Renee', Sandy, Brett, Jazmine, Paul, Kayla, Jenna', Daniel and Brandon; and seventeen great-grandchildren. Also surviving Roberta is her dog, Missy Yonnie, her loyal and faithful companion.

Roberta came to Mishawaka in 1961 coming from LaPorte. She worked for RACO in the Assembly and Set Up department for 20 years. She was a loving, caring, and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

Family and friends may visit from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2006, in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2006, in Hahn Funeral Home, with Steve Nani officiating. Internment will be held at a later date at Oak Grove Cemetery, Mill Creek, LaPorte County, IN.
