John Elias Sr., 1206 N. Elmer St., died Wednesday in his residence after a year’s illness. He was born in Hungary Nov. 19, 1881, and came here 50 years ago from that country. He was married in South Bend in 1908 to Theresa Redelo, who survives. He leaves also three daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Balasa, of South Bend; Mrs. Alfred Ricciardi, Jr., of Plymouth, Ind., and Mrs. Helen Baker, of San Leandro, Calif.; a son, John, of South Bend; a brother, Emery, of South Bend; and 11 grandchildren.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. today in Nemeth Funeral Home until funeral at 9 a.m. Saturday in Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Rev. James W. Halfill, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
