Mary E. Elbode, 88, of Studebaker Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away Easter Sunday, April 20, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center Mishawaka after an illness. Mary was born on November 28, 1914 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, as the daughter of the late Michael and Adele (Vergamini) Mininni, and was also preceded in death by one sister, Adele Biesbrouck.

On Nov. 28, 1935, in Mishawaka as Mary E. Mininni she married Oscar Elbode, who preceded her in death on Aug. 3, 1994. Mary is survived by one son, Michael (Marie) Elbode of South Bend. She is also survived by a niece, Carol Di Leo; and a brother- in-law, Richard Elbode. Mrs. Elbode was a member of St. Bavo's Catholic Church Mishawaka and a member of the former St. Bavo Altar Society.

Friends may call today, April 22, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A wake prayer service will be held at 3:30 p.m. today in the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Bavo's Catholic Church with Rev. Barry England officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery Mishawaka.
