Russell G. "Doughboy" Eisner,
55, of Generations Drive, South Bend, Ind., passed away Friday,
July 5, in his home. Russell was born on Oct. 31, 1946, in
Wisconsin, to Fred Eisner Sr. and Alice (Mueller) Eisner, who
preceded him in death.
Mr. Eisner is survived by a brother, retired
Pastor Fred Eisner Jr. of Omaha, Neb.; two nieces, Tami Fulton
and Kelly Lautenbach of Nebraska; and by a nephew, Pastor
Brian Eisner of North Carolina.
Russell was a graduate of Central High
School in 1965. He went to work as a loader for Tip Top, Kreamo
of South Bend, Benton Harbor, Mich., and Alpha Baking of LaPorte,
Ind. He was former president of the St. Joseph Valley REACT Team.
Michiana Community Church of God was his home church. He became a
Christian in 1999.
There will be no visitation. Russell's ashes
were buried at the Riverview Cemetery in South Bend on Tuesday,
July 16, with his nephew, Pastor Brian Eisner, and Pastor Brad
Windlan in charge. There will be a memorial for Mr. Eisner for
extended family, friends and co-workers at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July
21, in the Michiana Community Church of God, 51637 Ash Road. In
lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be
made to the church or to the Diabetes Association. The Bubb
Funeral Home, Mishawaka, is handling arrangements.
