NORTH LIBERTY - Services for LaVada A. Eichorst, 80, of St. Paul's Retirement Community, South Bend, formerly of Layton Road, who died at 6 a.m. Thursday in the nursing home, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Sumption Prairie United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Sumption Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in Hanley & Sons Funeral Home, South Bend, and one hour before services Friday in the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Greene Township Lions Club.

Mrs. Eichorst retired in 1975 from Easy Heat Corp., Lakeville. She was born July 11, 1915, in South Bend.

On Aug. 31, 1940, in Mishawaka, as LaVada A. Brugh, she married Charles F. Eichorst. He died in 1993. She is survived by a son, Ronald W. of North Liberty; a sister, Thelma Wortman of VanWert, Ohio; and a guardian, Jane Pittman of North Liberty.
