Sister Mary Notburga CSC, of the Sisters of Holy Cross, died in Saint Mary’s Convent at noon Monday after a prolonged illness. She was born Mariz Anna Eichel in Lingen, Germany in 1878. She came to this country in 1903 to enter the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross. She received her habit in 1904 and made her profession of vows in 1910. Shortly after her novitiate she was assigned duty at the University of Notre Dame. She worked at Holy Cross Convent there until illness force her retirement. She entered Saint Mary’s Convent last fall as a patient in the infirmary.

Friends may call in the Novitiate Parlors. A requiem high mass will be sung in the convent chapel at 6 a.m. Wednesday, and burial will be in the community cemetery.
